Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Meld ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, protects, and discloses information when you visit heymeld.com, join our waitlist, or use the Meld iOS app once it is available. Because Meld is a health product, we take privacy seriously and want to be specific about what we do.

1. Who we are
Meld is an independent product built by Brock Howard. Our company entity and contact details will be finalized before the app launches. For now, Meld is pre-launch and primarily operates a waitlist at heymeld.com.
2. What we collect
On this website (heymeld.com), we collect the email address you submit to join our waitlist, standard web analytics about the pages you visit, and cookies that make the site work.
Inside the Meld iOS app, once it launches, we collect health data from sources you explicitly connect (Oura, Apple Health, Peloton, Garmin, and others over time). You control which sources are connected. We also collect health data you enter directly such as food photos, workout notes, goals, and preferences. We collect your email and authentication tokens for your account. We collect usage data about which features you use. We collect any support messages you send us.
We never buy, scrape, or acquire your health data from outside sources. Every piece of health data we see comes from you or from a source you connected.
3. How we use your data
We use your data only to make Meld work for you. That means coaching you based on your own data, history, and goals. Connecting insights across sleep, nutrition, recovery, and training. Improving Meld through anonymized product analytics. Emailing you about your waitlist status, product updates, and support. Meeting legal obligations if required.
We do not sell your data. We do not rent your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your health data to train generic AI models.
4. How AI is used
Meld uses Anthropic's Claude to power the coaching experience. When you chat with the coach, your message and relevant health context are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic acts as our sub-processor and does not retain this data to train their models. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own commercial terms.
We never send your name, email, or any identifier to Anthropic unless it is necessary to answer your message. We send only the minimum context needed to coach you well.
5. Where your data lives
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. It is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway. Railway is our hosting sub-processor. Both Railway and our backend are located in the United States.
Our sub-processors today are Anthropic for AI inference, Railway for hosting, Apple for in-app purchase processing and push notification delivery, and Cloudflare Pages for this marketing website. This list will evolve and we will update this page when it changes.
6. Your rights
You have the right to see what data we have about you, to export it in a machine-readable format, to delete all of it at any time, to revoke access to any data source inside the app, to unsubscribe from our emails, and to complain to us or to a data protection authority. Email hello@heymeld.com for any of these.
Residents of California, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and other regions may have additional rights under their local privacy laws. We honor all of them.
7. HIPAA
Meld is not a covered entity under HIPAA. We are not a healthcare provider, insurer, or clearinghouse. We are a consumer wellness app. HIPAA does not apply to most of our operations today.
That said, we treat your health data with the same seriousness HIPAA would require. Encryption, access controls, audit logs, minimum necessary access. If we ever integrate with HIPAA-covered entities or sources, we will enter the appropriate Business Associate Agreements and update this policy.
8. Children
Meld is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us data, email hello@heymeld.com and we will delete it.
9. Cookies and tracking
The heymeld.com website uses cookies that make the site work and analytics cookies to understand site traffic. You can disable analytics cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not participate in cross-site tracking networks. We do not sell or share cookie data.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when we change anything material. We will email waitlist members for significant changes. You can always see when we last updated this by checking the Last Updated date at the top.
